Quite Ready for Another Adventure: NTEN

I am excited to anounce that as of February 1, 2012 I am taking the position of Educational Program Manager at NTEN. I will be responsible for managing the various educational offerings of NTEN as well as helping to improve the education and training skills of the nonprofit technology community.

Over the last 6 years I have enjoyed having my own practice providing training and consulting work to a variety of foundations and nonprofits. I also know that my strongest passion is around education and training. This position is an opportunity to add a higher level of quality and evaluation to NTEN’s various educational offerings. My focus will be on educating and supporting nonprofit staff to gain the necessary skills to integrate technology into their work as well as working closely with presenters to ensure quality offerings.

I have been fortunate to work with the folks at NTEN since the early 2000's in a variety of roles including the NTC Steering Committee, the NTEN: Change Editorial Board and a wide variety of presentations. (Pictured: Me with Ed Batista and Beth Kanter at the 2004 NTC in Philadelphia).

It is an understatement to say I am delighted to be joining this amazing team.

This means I will not be accepting any more consulting assignments. I am however open to reviewing requests for education sessions. Those requests will be veted through NTEN, as I may take on some of them in my new role and some on my own time.

I am thrilled to be taking on this new role and engaging with my nonprofit technology colleagues in this new way. I welcome your thoughts and insights as to how to improve both the educational offerings of NTEN as well as the skills of the nonprofit technology community in education and training.

As Bilbo Baggins said at the end of Lord of the Rings, "I think I am quite ready for another adventure"!
